Literatura na rede ou literatura como rede?

Abstract

Pretende-se com este artigo identificar e descrever duas formas distintas de utilização da rede no que concerne à literatura: como meio de difusão, considerado uso fraco, viabilizando arquivos, bases de dados e outros sistemas de publicação eletrónica, isto é, literatura na rede; e como meio de produção, considerado uso forte, motivando géneros emergentes, simbioses humano-máquina e mecanismos de produção ciberliterária, isto é, literatura como rede. Partindo da apresentação de exemplos do uso forte vinculados à produção portuguesa, espera-se clarificar como a tensão entre livro e ecrã, papel e luz, fixidez e variabilidade surge nesses dois diferentes modos de uso de uma forma radicalmente diferente: a rede como objeto de uso na literatura que se adapta à rede, a rede como uso de objeto na literatura que adota a rede. The aim of this article is to identify and describe two distinct ways of using the network with regard to literature: as a means of dissemination, considered weak use, ena-bling archives, databases and other electronic publishing systems, that is, literature on the network; and as a means of production, con-sidered a strong use, motivating emerging genres, human-machine symbiosis and mech-anisms of cyberliterary production, that is, lit-erature as a network. Starting from the pres-entation of examples of strong use linked to Portuguese production, we hope to clarify how the tension between book and screen, paper and light, fixity and variability arises in these two different modes of use in a radically dif-ferent way: the network as an object of use in the literature that adapts to it; the network as an object use in the literature that adopts it.
