| dc.description.abstract | During World War II, the Ibero-American Institute in Berlin broadcasted a radio program about Portuguese composers, aiming to win sympathies in Portugal to Hitler's Germany. In this article, the correspondence sent by the Institute to the musicians is analyzed for the first time, revealing close links between the nacional-socialist propaganda machine and personalities such as Luiz and Pedro de Freitas Branco, Cláudio Carneiro, Ivo Cruz, Santiago Kastner and many others, as opposed to the singular reaction of Fernando Lopes-Graça - the only one who refused to negociate with the Nazi Institution. | en |
