Literature defends that financial risk-taking depends on psychological and social factors, and that emerging adults are more willing to participate in risk-taking behaviors. In this research we measured the financial risk-taking of emerging adults in Portugal with the intent to identify separately and in an interrelated way the relevance of acknowledge psychological and social factors. A survey was given to 351emerging adults in Portugal. Results of statistical analysis displayed that emerging adults’ financial risk-level was related to gender, ethnicity and academic degree. Although, feeling of social discrimination, expected future financial situation, and self-esteem were not related to financial risk-taking.
