Evolução do Nacionalismo Catalão: fatores institucionais e políticos, consequências e resultados

Abstract

O nacionalismo catalão pode ser entendido como expressão de uma das três nacionalidades identificadas em Espanha (Catalunha, País Basco, Galiza). A evolução do nacionalismo catalão sofreu mutações políticas que o transformaram de um nacionalismo cultural e/ou linguístico para um nacionalismo mais claramente independentista ou separatista. Este trabalho pretende (1) analisar os conceitos de nacionalismo cultural e nacionalismo separatista/independentista e como se adequam ao caso espanhol e catalão, (2) enumerar os principais fatores políticos e institucionais que provocaram alterações na natureza do nacionalismo catalão, nomeadamente a Constituição de 1978, o processo de revisão do Estatuto de Autonomia, iniciado em 2006, e a consequência prática da decisão do Tribunal Constitucional de 2010 e (3) perceber os resultados das alterações no nacionalismo catalão para o cenário político do referendo de 1 de outubro de 2017 na Catalunha e consequente polarização política.

The catalan nationalism can be understood as an expression of one of the three nationalities identified in Spain (Catalunya, Basque Country and Galiza). The evolution of the Catalan nationalism suffered political mutations that transformed it from a cultural and/or linguistic nationalism towards a more clearly independentist or separatist nationalism. This thesis intends to (1) analyse the concepts of cultural and/or linguistic nationalism and separatist/independentist nationalism and how they apply to the Spanish and Catalan case, (2) enumerate the main political and institutional factors that caused changes in the nature of the Catalan nationalism, namely the Constitution of 1978, the process of revision of the statute of autonomy that began in 2006 and the practical consequences of the decision of the Constitutional Court in 2010 and(3) understand the results of the changes in Catalan nationalism under the political scenario of the referendum of October 1 of 2017 in Catalunya and consequent political polarization,
