Inteligência artificial e suas implicações ético-jurídicas

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has recently assumed a relevant role in the most diverse sectors of our society. We are at a point of no return, and our future will naturally pass through the incorporation of artificial intelligence, in our daily life, whether professional or personal. The idea of the existence of "thinking" machines that make decisions for humans raises a series of ethical questions that must be present when developing and implementing artificial intelligence in the most diverse sectors of society and especially in the regulation of AI. It is essential to study and investigate the best approaches for safe implementation and to address liability issues arising from the use of these technologies. This study identifies the main guiding principles of ethical regulation in the field of AI in the context of the use of intelligent and, above all, autonomous systems. It also presents an overview of the main fields in which AI is used and how it has impacted the Society.

A inteligência artificial (IA) tem nos últimos tempos assumido um papel relevante nos mais diversos setores da nossa sociedade. Estamos num ponto sem retorno, e o nosso futuro passará naturalmente pela incorporação da inteligência artificial, na nossa vida diária, seja profissional, seja pessoal. A ideia da existência de máquinas “pensantes” e que tomem decisões pelos Humanos levanta uma série de questões éticas que devem estar presentes aquando do desenvolvimento e implementação da inteligência artificial nos mais diversos setores da sociedade e principalmente na regulação da IA. É fundamental estudar e investigar as melhores abordagens para uma implementação segura e que trate questões ligadas a responsabilidade civil por situações decorrentes do uso dessas tecnologias. O presente estudo identifica, os principais princípios orientadores da regulação ética, no campo da IA em contexto de uso de sistemas inteligentes e, sobretudo autónomos. Apresenta também um panorama dos principais campos em que a IA é utilizada e de como vem impactando a Sociedade.
