1956 foi o primeiro ano completo de actividade desta Missão em Cabo Verde. De facto, tendo sido criada pelo Decreto n.0 40.077, de 4 de Março de 1955, e nomeado o pessoal do seu quadro permanente por portaria de 28 de Julho do mesmo ano (publicada no Diário do Governo - II.ª Série, n.º 198 - de 26 de Agosto), anteriormente a 1956 a Missão sòmente pôde actuar na província durante os meses de Novembro e Dezembro de 1955.
Tendo sido apresentado oportunamente o relatório referente a este curto período de dois meses, cumpre-nos agora, em satisfação da alínea 4.", do artigo 10.º do referido decreto, dar conta das actividades da Missão e resultados obtidos, desde 1 de Janeiro a 31 de Dezembro, e propor à sua Comissão Orientadora o programa de trabalhos para 1957.
1956 was the first full year of activity for this Mission in Cape Verde. In fact, having been created by Decree No. 40,077 of March 4, 1955, and its permanent staff appointed by order of July 28 of the same year (published in the Government Gazette - Series II, No. 198 - of August 26), prior to 1956, the Mission was only able to operate in the province during the months of November and December 1955. Having duly submitted the report on this short two-month period, we must now, in accordance with paragraph 4 of Article 10 of the aforementioned decree, report on the Mission's activities and results from January 1 to December 31, and propose the work program for 1957 to its Steering Committee.
