Resumo(s)

Fitness and well-being are more than ever related to each other, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, which lead people to resort more to fitness apps. In this context, well-being is defined as happiness, life satisfaction and self-growth. With these concepts in mind, this study aims to comprehend how fitness apps can impact users’ well-being, and to answer this matter, we resort to the five factor model (FFM) and the PERMA Theory. Based on a sample of 211 individuals, we show that extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism, openness to experiences, positive emotions and engagement enhances the user’s well-being. Additionally, we find that the age and the use frequency of the app are important moderators. The paper ends with a discussion of the study’s limitations and future research.
