This thesis analyzes the opportunities and barriers for the development, adoption, and scaling of AI-based Second Opinion platforms in German orthopedics, using DocRobin as a case study. Building on a mixed-methods approach, combining expert interviews, a patient survey, and business model analysis, the study examines technological, regulatory, economic, and stakeholder-related factors. The results reveal strong system-level efficiency and cost-saving potential, alongside significant challenges related to physician acceptance, dependencies and regulation. The findings provide strategic implications for digital health startups operating in highly regulated healthcare markets.eng
