Acção patogénica sobre os porcos da estirpe portuguesa de Leptospira pomona

Tendo sido isolada a Leptospirose pomona de porcos abatidos no Matadouro Municipal de Lisboa, procedeu-se ao estudo da sua acção patogénica experimental sobre os mesmos animais. Para isso inocularam-se 0,7 c. de meio de Vervoort contendo uma estirpe patogénica em 6 animais jovens, cujas soro-aglutinações para a L. pomona se revelaram negativas. Os animais não apresentaram qualquer sinal de doença, mas verificaram-se em todos eles soro-aglutinações positivas a título alto e obteve-se em um deles hemocultura positiva.
The Leptospira pomona having been isolated from pigs slain at the Municipal Slaugter-House of Lisbon, we carried out the study of its experimental pathogenic action on the same animals. For that purpose 0,7 cc. Vervoort's medium, containing a pathogenic strain were inoculated in 6 young animals, the sero-agglutinations of which were negative. The animals do not present any symptoms of illness, but in all of them we verified positive sero-agglutinations with a high titration. We obtained in one of them positive hemoculture.
