| dc.description.abstract | O presente texto analisa a problemática dos restauros levados a cabo pela Direcção-Geral dos Edifícios e Monumentos Nacionais no mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaça, em Portugal, e o seu impacto na dispersão e destruição da obra de talha da sua igreja. Empregando os critérios de restauro de Eugène Viollet-le-Duc (1814-1879), o nacionalismo do Estado Novo (1926-1974) português optou pela pureza de estilo dos edifícios, nomeadamente os medievais, expurgando-os das artes aplicadas. This text analyses the restorations carried out by the Direcção-Geral dos Edifícios e Monumentos Nacionais, in the monastery of Santa Maria de Alcobaça in Portugal and their impact on the dispersal and destruction of the woodcarved altars of its church. Using the criteria of restoration of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc (1814-1879), the nationalism of the Portuguese Estado Novo (1926-1974) opted for the purity of style of the buildings, especially the medieval ones, expuging them of the applied arts. | en |
