In today's industrial dynamics, the constant minimization of production waste is imperative for the sustainability and competitiveness of companies, especially in a market marked by intense competition and unpredictable challenges, as evidenced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The adoption of Lean methodologies is essential to effectively implement anti-waste measures in organizations. In the metallurgy sector, there is a relative reluctance to incorporate these practices, although some companies have recently started applying Lean tools to their processes. This study comes as a response to the need to restructure the Prenso Metal company, which, despite its vast experience in the sector, is facing significant financial challenges. To promote this transformation, the study identified the most wasteful processes and applied theoretical principles of Lean management to mitigate these problems. After implementing the measures aimed at reducing waste, a reduction of 46.5% was achieved in picking time and 68.89% in technician call-out time. The recommendations emanating from this study are based on empirically obtained results and solid theoretical foundations. It is worth noting that, due to the company's unfavorable financial situation, some of the suggestions could not be implemented in practice. Even so, the guidelines provided aim to steer Prenso Metal towards more efficient management, helping to maximize operational efficiency and, consequently, overcome the financial challenges faced by the company.
