O presente relatório tem como principal objetivo a apresentação e análise da tradução do texto jornalístico, com base na experiência adquirida durante o estágio em duas revistas de informação portuguesas do grupo Trust in News, Lda., a Visão e a Courrier Internacional. Para tal, a primeira parte do relatório focar-se-á no esclarecimento das motivações para a realização do estágio e na apresentação das duas revistas. A segunda parte dedicar-se-á ao enquadramento teórico, cuja relevância se considerou no decorrer do estágio, nomeadamente uma breve introdução ao texto jornalístico e à tradução desse tipo de texto, e ainda uma breve análise da problemática da (in)visibilidade do tradutor – no geral e no contexto do estágio. Posteriormente, a terceira parte do relatório incluirá uma descrição geral do estágio, um breve relato de um dia como tradutor estagiário e a exposição e análise de alguns trabalhos desenvolvidos, destacando e comparando o número de textos de partida e textos de chegada, o tipo de textos traduzidos, os pares linguísticos utilizados, as diferentes áreas temáticas tratadas e as ferramentas de tradução utilizadas. Por último, serão tecidas considerações sobre o processo tradutório, enumerando e ponderando alguns desafios e problemas de tradução.
The main objective of this report is the presentation and analysis of the translation of the journalistic text, based on the experience acquired during the internship in two Portuguese news magazines, Visão and Courrier Internacional, from the press group Trust in News, Lda. For this purpose, the first part of the report will focus on clarifying the reasons for carrying out the internship and presenting both magazines. The second part will be dedicated to the theoretical framework, whose relevance was taking under consideration during the internship, namely a brief introduction to the journalistic text and to the translation of this kind of text, as well as a brief analysis on the issue of the translator’s (in)visibility – in general and in the context of the internship. Subsequently, the third part of the report will include a general description of the internship, a brief description of one day as a trainee translator and the exhibition and analysis of some of the work carried out, comparing the number of source and target texts, the type of texts translated, the language pairs used, the different subject areas adressed and the CAT tools used. Finally, considerations will be made on the translation process, listing and considering some challenges and problems found in translation.
