This paper evaluates the effect of changes in fiscal policy in the Pension Plans occurred between 2004 and 2006. Tobit and Hurdle models allow me to estimate the effect of fiscal benefits in the annual contributions. The main conclusion is that, their reintroduction did not change significantly the individual’s behaviour, at least in the short run. Thus, one may ask about the fundamentals behind this policy and argues that, if in the long run, this policy has a significant impact on household saving, the fiscal benefits should be maintained but, if it has not, it will reduce the net national saving.
