O estudo da fiscalidade dos Papas de Avinhão no reino de Portugal tem um passado, um presente e um futuro. Através da análise da evolução historiográfica do tema no seio da medievalística portuguesa, das fontes conservadas no Arquivo Vaticano passíveis de serem mobilizadas para o seu estudo e das potencialidades dessas mesmas fontes, pretende-se uma melhor compreensão das atividades, organização, relações e implicações da presença da Câmara apostólica no Reino português entre 1309 e 1377 The study of the taxation of the Popes of Avignon in the kingdom of Portugal has a past, a present and a future. These three stages will be addressed through an analysis of the evolution of the theme within Portuguese historiography, of the typology of sources conserved in the Vatican Archive to that extend and their respective potentialities for a better understanding of the activities, organization, relations and implications of the presence of the Apostolic Chamber in the Portuguese kingdom between 1309 and 1377.
