Bien que les deux forms – vesical et intestinales – de bilharziose existente en Angola, l’étude des mollusques intermédiaires rest encore à faire, puisqu’on n’a de reseignements sommaires que sur trois espèces d’entre eux seulement.
Dans ce travail les auteurs étudient la morphologie des espèces du genre Bulinus qu’ils ont identifiées:
Le groupe Africanus – Bulinus (Ph.) globosus (Morelet), l’unique jusqu’à ce Jour recontré infesté naturellement;
Le groupe Tropicus – Bulinus (B.) tropicus angolensis (Morelet);
Le groupe Forskalli – Bulinus (B.) forskalii (Ehrenberg) e Bulinus (B.) scalaris (Dunker).
Although both forms of bilharziosis – vesical and intestinal – are found in Angola, the study of the intermediary mollusks is yet to be made as we have but slight knowledge of only three species of them. In this work the authors have studied the morphology of the species of the type Bulinus, which they have identified a Africanus group Bulinus (Ph.) globosus (Morelet), alove till now found naturally infested. The Tropicus group – Bulinus (B.) tropicus angolensis (Morelet); Forskali group – Bulinus (B.) forskalii (Ehrenberg) e Bulinus (B.) scalaris (Dunker).
