Resumo(s)
This examination of a small yet remarkable subset of manuscript fragments from Coimbra allows the exploration of its circulation and repurposing. Additionally, the concise overview of manuscript fragments from English, French, German, and Italian sources offers insight into the abundance of Portuguese archives and libraries during the early modern period and beyond. It also demonstrates that Portugal was not isolated but instead actively engaged in a network of international exchanges involving both printed and manuscript books. Notably, these fragments offer valuable insights into medieval plainchant, and contribute to our understanding of the history of books in Portugal beyond just their liturgical significance.
