This case study discusses the leveraged buyout (LBO) of Hilton Hotels Corporation, a multinational firm well known in the hospitality industry as leisure, business travel services or even events provided. The focus areas of the case are the incentives for the LBO, its correlated
investment thesis, and subsequent decision based on its risk adjusted measured payoff on private equity returns, and the value creation process. In addition, the investing part of the decision of entering an LBO and whether a high ranking private equity fund sees space to
deliver substantial expected returns to its limited partners.
