| dc.description.abstract | Este livro aborda os moinhos do rio Guadiana edificados a jusante da foz do rio Caia. Especial atenção é dada aos seus aspetos técnicos e socioeconómicos. O principal objetivo é enriquecer o campo de estudos das tecnologias tradicionais portuguesas, particularmente aquelas que eram destinadas à moagem de cereais, contribuindo, simultaneamente, para a preservação da sua memória. O estudo baseia-se, sobretudo, em materiais etnográficos recolhidos pelo autor sensivelmente nas últimas duas décadas, incluindo o testemunho direto de antigos moleiros e de antigos acarretadores ou maquilões. This book tackles the mills of the Guadiana River built downstream from the mouth of the Caia River. Special attention is paid to its technical and socio-economic aspects. The main objective is to enrich the field of studies of the traditional Portuguese technologies, particularly those that were destined to the grinding of cereals, contributing, simultaneously, to the preservation of its memory. The study is based mainly on ethnographic materials collected by the author approximately in the last two decades, including the direct testimony of former millers. | en |
