In order to allow a better knowledge and an easier use of lime mortars for the conservation of historic buildings a research program is being carried out, in which the effects of hydraulic components on lime mortars are evaluated. The hydraulic components used in this study are natural pozzolan, fly ashes and both material for ceramic tiles production and kaolin, after being fired at different temperatures. This paper presents the results obtained with one formulation prepared with each of the different hydraulic components, emphasising the great influence of the curing conditions in the results and the benefits obtained in comparison with a pure hydrated lime mortar.por
