Resumo(s)
This project aims to develop a decision-support tool for individuals considering emigration,
through the development of a dashboard that compares relevant emigration factors, such as
cost of living, safety, demographics and other characteristics of various European countries.
Initially, an analysis of the most recent global emigration data was conducted, followed by
research into the key factors considered by potential emigrants during the decision-making
process. It was found that the existing information was mostly generic and lacked specificity.
To tackle the lack of detailed information, a survey was created to not only identify the most
relevant factors for people looking to emigrate, but also to evaluate the difficulty of accessing
this type of information in a clear, reliable, and centralized platform. Additionally, the survey
helped understand users’ receptivity to using dashboards as a decision-support tool for this
particular topic. Based on the results gathered, an interactive dashboard was developed by
using Power BI. This dashboard integrates the most important factors considered by the
respondents. This project demonstrates how Business Intelligence tools can be valuable in
providing accessible, reliable, and personalized information, thus facilitating the decision-making process in the context of emigration.
