Esta dissertação analisa a representação dos espaços de clausura no cinema português contemporâneo, explorando como estes influenciam a narrativa e o comportamento das personagens. Através do estudo dos filmes Alice (2005), António, Um Rapaz de Lisboa (2002), Lá Fora (2004), Colo (2017), Mal Viver/Viver Mal (2023) e Aparelho Voador a Baixa Altitude (2002), investiga-se de que forma o espaço se torna um elemento ativo, muitas vezes opressivo, refletindo realidades de isolamento e controlo. A dissertação organiza-se em três partes: contextualização de cada obra, análise fílmica de excertos selecionados e uma leitura comparativa final. O percurso analítico segue uma progressão de espaços predominantemente exteriores para interiores, encerrando com uma obra que sugere uma possível libertação. A escolha dos filmes baseia-se na sua relevância temática e num interesse pessoal pela relação entre cinema e arquitetura.
This dissertation analyzes the representation of enclosed spaces in contemporary Portuguese cinema, exploring how they influence the narrative and the behavior of the characters. Through the study of the films Alice (2005), António, Um Rapaz de Lisboa (2002), Lá Fora (2004), Colo (2017), Mal Viver/Viver Mal (2023), and Aparelho Voador a Baixa Altitude (2002), we investigate how space becomes an active, often oppressive element, reflecting realities of isolation and control. The dissertation is organized into three parts: contextualization of each work, film analysis of selected excerpts, and a final comparative reading. The analytical journey follows a progression from predominantly exterior to interior spaces, ending with a work that suggests a possible liberation. The choice of films is based on their thematic relevance and a personal interest in the relationship between cinema and architecture.
