With 32 years of existence, the FPP performs in an interface of identity representations of a migrant context in the heart of Europe. The metaphor of the building of homes, proposed by one of the musicians at the end of a concert in April in Portugal, formed the analytical perspective of this ethnomusicological study. In it are confronted the theoretical universes of the study of ethno-symbolic nationalism proposed by the school of Anthony Smith in London School of Economics (2009, 2010, 2013). The goal is to document and to interpret identity details of national representation (motivations, constraints, individual and collective tastes), on the host space, French and Parisian. The identity details of other representations (emotional and social complement – school of life, sociability in welcoming port/family FPP) that emerged increasingly as time passed, will also be considered. To the analysis of these representations, I consider the history, repertoire and musical experiences of the FPP, through a selected number of participants in and outside the group: the musical subjects of this study. I characterize identity details from the context of cultural interface inherent to the migrant situation of the musical subjects I worked with. The practices of fado and folklore as Portuguese national scenes in Paris, interfered in the analysis that I develop of the identity representations on the Filarmónica Portuguesa de Paris.
