| dc.description.abstract | Inspirado pelo pensamento grego arcaico e pelo adágio “o sofrimento é ensinamento”, este artigo considera como o sofrimento global gerado pela pandemia da COVID-19 pode revelar e fomentar os ideais utópicos de uma compaixão e um cuidado cosmopolitas. Com base em discussões sobre emoções morais e políticas, a dimensão emocional do cosmopolitismo, a imaginação cosmopolita e a ética feminista do cuidado, considera-se ainda como esses ideais utópicos podem transformar a vida individual e coletiva. Inspired by archaic Greek thought and the adage “suffering is teaching”, this article considers how the global suffering generated by the COVID-19 pandemic can reveal and foster the utopian ideals of cosmopolitan compassion and care. Based on discussions about moral and political emotions, the emotional dimension of cosmopolitanism, the cosmopolitan imagination and the feminist ethics of care, the article also considers how these utopian ideals can transform individual and collective life. | en |
