principais: enquadramento institucional, onde é descrita a instituição onde decorreu o
Portugal.
The Portuguese community in France is, besides the biggest Portuguese community outside the country, very heterogeneous in what concerns its geographic origin, its qualifications, age range and arrival year to the destination country. These distinguishing elements are, however, allayed when discussing the connection of each member of the Portuguese diaspora to the Portuguese cultural identity. This link is 4 enhanced by the intense associative activity of the Portuguese living in France, that attempts to fit the communities’ dynamics and expectations. The Portuguese associativism in France is, therefore, a connection between the Portuguese diaspora and the Portuguese cultural identity. On this internship report we explore the concepts of identity, diaspora and associativism resorting to literature review and to the analyses of surveys held to the Portuguese community in France, during the internship on the General Consulate of Portugal in Paris. This work is divided in three major moments: institutional framework, where the internship’s institution is describe as well as other relevant institutions for this analyses; description of activities, where it is described all the activities made during the internship; and, finally, an analyses that reflects on the Portuguese associativism in France as an element of identity connection to Portugal.
