The theme of risks, in this case applied to the coast and the coastline, is increasingly an object of interest to the population and the media. The issue, not always consensual, of climate change appears more and more frequently in the news and in the daily lives of young students. This theme also allows a set of multidisciplinary approaches that have the potential to enrich the students' curriculum. It is precisely when it comes to education that we can assume risk awareness as a goal to be achieved in the near future, within the school community. This subject is addressed in the syllabus of the Geography discipline of the 9th year of schooling, however, the participants of this report, during the Supervised Teaching Practice, considered it pertinent to measure the perception of students before and after the passage in that year of schooling, trying to find out how the students were prepared for possible responses in the event of the occurrence of a certain type of event. This practice culminated in a field trip to São Martinho do Porto, in one of the last days of classes of the school year, where the 10th grade students could see on the ground, make a direct observation as the 1st stage of the method of studying the Geography, of the problems that affect the coast and more specifically the coastline, becoming aware of the main responses that are being developed by the most diverse local agents. Associated with this activity, a brief online questionnaire was developed, in order to consolidate knowledge, in an attempt to produce significant learning among students. This work focuses on what was done on the theme described above, during the time available, still dealing with what was not done and could have been done, taking into account the teaching practice, the target audience (classes and Cooperating Teachers) theoretical review.
