Por intermédio dos seus escritos, pretendemos recuperar um conjunto de considerações que versam sobre as origens, a constituição e a evolução de uma geração de escritores e intelectuais que notabilizou o Portugal do século XIX; importa também perceber os contornos das ideias - e das suas variações – desta geração, atendendo às reflexões de Saraiva; ou ainda, considerar as aproximações ideológicas e temáticas entre Saraiva e a presente geração. {Abstract] As a culture and literature historian, António José Saraiva conducted several studies on the so-called Generation of 70.
