However, arsenic trioxide (ATO) is presently the most active antineoplastic agent in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL) (Trisenox®, Teva Pharm). Despite the success of this drug, the actual mechanism of action is complex and is not completely understood. We have therefore investigated the mechanisms by which the cell responds to arsenic that perturb homeostasis, and how homeostasis can subsequently be restored, while also focusing on the mechanistic understanding of individual protein regulation important for the cell to thwart the cytotoxic effects of arsenic.(...)engYeast Response to Arsenic’s ThreatsPerturbation of Calcium Homeostasis, and a Novel Function for the Ubiquitin Ligase (E4) Ufd2 in Yap8 Stabilitydoctoral thesis
