A partir do mapeamento dos momentos chave da informação televisiva ocorrida no primeiro mês da nova RTP revolucionária, reflete sobre o papel dos media na construção da memória coletiva e das narrativas históricas. This text analyses how Portuguese television (RTP) changed during the transition to democracy by the military coup of April 25, 1974. It highlights the main characteristics of television during the last phase of the Estado Novo. It signals how the Marcelo Caetano (1968-1974) regime’s subordination of information to propaganda coexisted with the modernity of various non-daily cultural programs.
