Estruturalmente, os assuntos são os analisados nas fontes primárias: situação cultural, social, filosófica e política, feminismo e progresso cultural no nosso país; as atividades do Teatro de São Carlos e perspetivas sobre ópera, compositores e a arte do canto lírico. Através da análise dos temas e conteúdos dos seus artigos, conclui-se que, tal como sucede com outros agentes musicais republicanos, os escritores estudados incluem na sua agenda preocupações ao nível da educação artística de profissionais e público em geral.The main problem of this dissertation is to know how we can discuss the production of the writers Affonso Vargas and Esteves Lisboa in the periodical A Arte Musical in the first decade of the 20th century. Structurally, the subjects are analyzed in the primary sources: cultural, social, philosophical, and political situation, feminism and cultural progress in our country; the activities of Teatro de São Carlos and perspectives on opera, composers and the art of lyrical singing.
