Providing an increase of balance between the personal and professional life of employees allowed companies to improve as well, increasing on their side productivity and efficiency. Beside this, companies that work under a four-day work week schedule tend to have a higher talent retention rate, employee satisfaction and lower levels of burn-out registered. Nonetheless, this work regime cannot be applied to every industry. Even in the industries that this schedule is designed to be successful, there is an error margin due to the adaptation required to have an eight-hour reduction per week, for all the employees. Several measures need to be taken before changing the work regime, or even undergo a trial. This research aims to study how can an improvement in the Knowledge Management strategy of a given department facilitate this hard process of adaptation for companies. To achieve this goal, two data collections methods were applied. A quantitative method, by applying a questionnaire to the employees of the department that was chosen as the subject of this research, Siemens GBS P2P, and a qualitative method, an interview with the department manager. Based on the data collected from both methods, it was possible to conclude that an improvement in Knowledge Management would in fact turn the adaptation to a new schedule easier, and an example of the model that would fit the department studied was designed. During the elaboration of this research it was not possible to apply a trial to the department, but nonetheless, all the information was prepared in case GBS P2P or any similar department has the desire and possibilities to apply it.engKnowledge ManagementBusiness Process ManagementFour-day work weekSDG 3 - Good health and well-beingSDG 4 - Quality educationSDG 8 - Decent work and economic growthSDG 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructureSDG 17 - Partnerships for the goalsHow to enhance a four-day work week through na improvement in the Knowledge Management strategymaster thesis203588967
