The aim is to explain, at the level of the metalinguistic representation, phenomena that result from the plasticity of linguistic forms and constructions. It is assumed that representations don't influence the conceptions of grammar, but rather arise from them. In this sense, the representation is only considered as a tool for the description of linguistic phenomena.
