Hence, the relationship between psychological capital and psychological distress, as well as the mediating role of challenge and threat appraisal was tested utilizing a sample of 175entrepreneurs, novice and nascent, who operate in one of the sub-sectors of the hospitality industry. As expected, the findings demonstrate a negative relationship between Psy Cap and psychological distress. Interestingly, however, this relationship is only partially mediated by threat appraisal.
