In this dissertation, I look at different scenarios where providing information to communities have the potential to improve their socio-economic outcomes. The first chapter shows that after the discovery of natural resources informing communities about their rights reduces violence and increases trust in institutions. The second chapter shows that a sensitization campaign about moderate Islam has the potential to decrease anti-social behavior of young Muslim men towards the government and foreigners. The last chapter looks at the strategic behavior of individuals if they perceive a piece of information as a rival good. Overall, this dissertation aims to contribute towards the design of more effective information campaigns.enginformation diffusionnatural resourcesreligious radicalizatiosocial networksEssays in development economics: the role of information provisiondoctoral thesis101474679
