Num mundo cada vez mais audiovisual, interessa analisar as vantagens e desvantagens do uso do audiovisual em sala de aula. Assim, este estudo teve como intuito compreender como pode o audiovisual: motivar os alunos para o estudo da História, ajudá-los a consolidar aprendizagens, promover o seu pensamento crítico e ainda contribuir para a sua cultura fílmica e cinematográfica. A investigação inclui a tradicional estratégia de visualização e análise de audiovisual e ainda, a de produção deste tipo de conteúdos por parte dos alunos. Conclui-se que o audiovisual é uma poderosa ferramenta pedagógica que aproxima os estudantes ao passado, torna-o mais acessível e entusiasmante, além de estimular a reflexão sobre o presente.This report, written as part of the Supervised Teaching Practice for the conclusion of the master’s degree in history teaching in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education, aims to reflect on the experience of the curricular internship, which took place at Miguel Torga Secondary School. In an increasingly audiovisual world, it is essential to understand the advantages and disadvantages of using audiovisual resources in the classroom. Thus, this study aimed to understand how audiovisual resources can: motivate students to study History, help them consolidate knowledge, promote critical thinking, and contribute to their film and cinema literacy. The research includes the traditional strategy of viewing and analyzing audiovisual documents, as well as the production of this kind of content by students.
