Primeiro, introduzo a estrutura e funcionamento do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros e da Embaixada, como instituições de acolhimento. Se seguida, enquadro a presença portuguesa em Viena e a participação nacional na Organização das Nações Unidas, igualmente descrevendo a evolução e funcionamento das suas partes mais relevantes, e a sua conexão com a evolução do conceito de segurança coletiva. Em terceiro lugar, descrevo as minhas atividades durante o estágio, divididas entre as várias dimensões do mandato da Embaixada, e analizo as caraterísticas, desafios e oportunidades de aprendizagem das tarefas que realizei, e os seus conceitos de maior relevo. Por fim, faço um apanhado das aprendizagens que retirei e como estas se encaixam no Mestrado.The present document consists on the report of the Internship I did with the Portuguese Embassy in Austria, from 15th October 2023 to 15th April 2024. First, I introduce the structure and functioning of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the Embassy, as the hosts of my internship. Then, I give an overview of the portuguese presence in Vienna and the portuguese participation in the United Nations Organization, equally describing the evolution and functioning of its more relevant subdivisions, and its connection with the evolution of the concept of collective security. Thirdly, I describe my activities during the internship, divided between the various dimensions of the Embassy’s mandate, and I analyze the characteristics, challenges and learning opportunities of my tasks, and their most relevant concepts.
