Depois de caracterizar este ecossistema, o artigo apresenta três exemplos concretos que demonstram o papel central dos Estados Unidos no sentido de aumentar a oferta de petróleo a nível mundial, fora e dentro da OPEP. In the last 40 years, in an evolutionary way and under the leadership of the United States, an ecosystem has been taking shape that structured, at a global level, the oil offer and the regulation of its price, which broke away from the business-minded need of control by the countries supplied by territories with a vast wealth of energy resources.
