A qualitative approach was used by conducting 20 semi-structured interviews, to explore key factors such as affordability, location and lifestyle priorities. The findings reveal Generation Z prioritizes affordability, urban proximity and flexibility, seeing renting as a temporary step towards homeownership. In contrast, Generation X prefers stability, larger spaces and suburban living. They often rent due to life transitions. This research highlights how economic, social and life stage factors influence rental behavior.
