Abstract: Like many other countries, Portugal is witnessing the social issue of childhood obesity leading to an increased cost burden. This thesis aims to assess the feasibility of a SIB in tackling this social issue in Portugal. After conducting a thorough analysis of the issue, potential intervention options, and a suitable outcome metric, a SIB was developed through an Excel model. This study suggests that replicating a combination of MUN-SI and JOGG on the Azores for elementary school-aged children can be viable and likely to create social and financial value for all stakeholders.
