A doença alérgica e as condições meteorológicas

Abstract

RESUMO - É habitualmente aceite, pela população em geral e mesmo entre a comunidade médica, uma correlação significativa entre as variáveis meteorológicas e as agudizações de asma brônquica, embora o papel individual das referidas variáveis não esteja tão bem esclarecido. Existem poucos estudos sobre este assunto, apresentando conclusões muito diversas. O clima está intimamente relacionado com a concentração de poluentes orgânicos e inorgânicos e desta interacção resultam frequentemente consequências graves para as vias aéreas de indivíduos com ou sem asma. O papel da climoterapia apresenta actualmente um reduzido substrato científico.

ABSTRACT - It is generally accepted a strong correlation between meteorological variables and asthma exacerbations, although the independent role of those conditions is not so well defined. There are few studies on this topic with different conclusions. The weather is closely related with organic and inorganic pollutants concentration, and from this interaction frequently result severe consequences on asthmatic and non asthmatic airways. The role of climate therapy had low scientific background.
