The primary research interests of the Lactic Acid Bacteria & in vivo NMR group concern metabolic and transcriptional regulation in Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), in particular the elucidation of mechanisms involved in carbon metabolism and sugar uptake. Currently, our research efforts focus on two microorganisms, the dairy Lactococcus lactis, a model organism for LAB, and the human pathogen, Streptococcus pneumoniae.
